So there’s an understanding between Eric and I that there are the actual words to songs that everyone knows, and then there are the words that I think that I hear and then sing and argue to no avail that they are the correct words (such as: If you’re going to San Francisco, be sure to wear some flowers in your hat. (don’t even try to argue with me on these!)) Anyway, today I realized that this lyrical disease I have is hereditary as Bella is showing strong signs of it! She asked me to turn the song on for her that says “God is a thing of bubbles.” Um, what? So we turned on the song ”His love endures forever” and just after they sang “For He is good, He is above all things” she said “See Mom! He is a bubble thing.”
My reply? “Oh yeah, there it is!”
Ha! That’s my girl!
I’m sure, in some theologically-significant way, God is, truly, a “bubble thing.”
If you’re going to San Francisco, be sure to wear some flowers in your hair..
All across, the Nation, there’s a new explanation…
But make sure those flowers mean you follow Christ and His Word. He loves everyone AND died for them according to His riches.
Love,
From one of the original flower children
