Finally! A day to do NOTHING!

So today my goal was to do nothing. Eric didn’t have any meetings today…which hasn’t happened in SO long, so the kids and I were pretty stoked on today.

Anyway, so here’s what I did with my day (keeping in mind the goal of doing as little as possible):

Got up at 7:30 with Noah (after all 4 of us having gone to bed after midnight that night!)
Make eggs/english muffins/smoothies for all 4 of us for breakfast.
Cleaned the kitchen (hand washing a quarter of the stuff).
Read books to the kids for a while.
Did a Bible lesson with the kids.
Set up art stuff for Bella to work on.
Watched a 2 ½ hour movie.
Walked on the treadmill.
Washed the car and the truck, with the kids.
Took out the trash (in the truck up to the barn).
Drove the kids, Calvin and Eric over to Uncle Glenn and Aunt Anita’s for a little visit.
Played outside with the kids for about an hour more.
Bathed the kids.
Made pancakes for dinner.

And here I am now. Throw in a few tantrums, poopy diapers, a shower, a couple of frustrations, and now a bit of a sunburn (just on me, not the kids!) and that was my day of doing nothing! It really was pretty good!

  1. Sounds like a great day to me!! Relax…enjoy your little ones 🙂

  2. wow…that’s quite a day of doing nothing…..?????

  3. i agree with melissa…what is your day like when you have stuff to do??? 🙂

  4. A day when I have stuff to do would be filled with errands, cleaning and real meals (not pancakes for dinner!). There would have been no movie or treadmill, no leisurely trip to Glenn and Anita’s, no hot breakfast….
